Mark W. Chandler, CPA (NC Certificate 23412) Mark is a 1982 graduate of Appalachian State University and is a Kernersville native. He was employed in the transportation industry prior to joining the firm in 1991.
Terry M. Richter, CPA (NC Certificate 33593 and NJ Certificate 26222) Terry is a 1993 graduate of Kean University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Her professional career includes audits for non-public companies, government audits and tax preparation for individuals, corporations, partnerships and non-profits. She is also a QuickBooks Pro-Advisor. She relocated from New Jersey to Oak Ridge with her husband and two boys in 2004. When she’s not working she enjoys traveling and improving her boxing skills.
Rebecca L. Slate, Staff Accountant – Becky joined the firm in 1997 and is a 1999 graduate of Guilford Technical Community College with a degree in accounting. Her professional career spans over 30 years experience in accounting and financial management for governmental agencies and small private sector businesses. Her interests include gardening, arts, and hiking in the mountains.
Susan Piotrowski, Payroll Coordinator – Susan graduated from Illinois State University with a double major in International Business and Marketing. She has lived in the Kernersville area for over half her life and has been with us since 2017. She enjoys traveling and the outdoors. Susan and her husband enjoy watching their children’s school activities and sporting events. She is an active member of her church and is a Girl Scout leader.
Sherry Everhart, Staff Accountant – Sherry graduated in 2006 from Central Christian University with a Bachelor of Ministry Degree. She also has a Finance and Accounting Degree from Forsyth Technical College. Her background is in public, private and non-profit accounting. She serves as the Children’s Pastor at her church and is an avid animal lover.
Matthew Mitchell, Accountant – Matt is a 2019 graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting. He began his career here at Chandler & Richter in 2020 after completing the CPA examination. Matt enjoys playing paintball and competing in paintball tournaments in his free time.

Our professionals are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Our firm participates in the Peer Review program prescribed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
