Mark W. Chandler, CPA (NC Certificate 23412) Mark W. Chandler is a proud Kernersville native and a 1982 graduate of Appalachian State University. After gaining valuable experience in the transportation industry, Mark transitioned into public accounting and joined the firm in 1991. With a strong commitment to personalized service and financial integrity, he has been helping clients navigate complex tax and accounting matters for decades.
Terry M. Richter, CPA (NC Certificate 33593 and NJ Certificate 26222) Terry M. Richter earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Kean University in 1993. Her professional career includes audits for non-public companies, government audits, and tax preparation for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profits. Terry is also a certified QuickBooks Pro-Advisor. She relocated from New Jersey to Oak Ridge in 2004 and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. Terry is also an active member of Kiwanis since 2024.
Matthew Mitchell, CPA (NC Certificate 45483) Matthew Mitchell, CPA, MACC (NC Certificate 45483)
Matthew Mitchell is a 2019 graduate of Coastal Carolina University, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting. After completing the CPA examination, Matt began his career with Chandler & Richter in 2020. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with friends and family.

Kelly S., Office Administration – Kelly is an integral part of Chandler & Richter, P.A., ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and exceptional client service. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is a certified Public Notary in North Carolina. In addition to managing office administration, Kelly handles bookkeeping, invoicing, billing, and tax preparation. Originally from New Jersey, Kelly now calls North Carolina home. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family.

Rebecca Marland, Tax & Accounting Specialist – Rebecca Marland brings a unique blend of precision and creativity to her work. With an associate degree in accounting and extensive experience in bookkeeping and business tax preparation, she ensures clients’ financial records are accurate and compliant. Rebecca also holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in music and maintains an active freelance music career, showcasing her versatility and passion for the arts. She lives in Greensboro with her husband and a lively crew of rescue pets, reflecting her commitment to community and compassion.
Katie Ann Bergman, Tax Coordinator & Operations
Katie Ann Bergman joined Chandler & Richter, P.A. in 2022, starting in office support and assembly. Through dedication and hard work, she advanced into bookkeeping and office operations and now serves as a Tax Coordinator and Preparer while continuing to manage bookkeeping and operational responsibilities such as software implementation. Katie is also a certified Notary Public and a licensed Real Estate Agent. Born and raised in the Triad, she and her husband are proud to be raising their three children in Kernersville.
Clay N. Johnson, Tax Preparer
Clay joined Chandler & Richter, P.A. in January 2026 after earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting from UNC Greensboro in 2025. He assists clients with personal tax preparation and bookkeeping, bringing attention to detail and a commitment to dependable service. A North Carolina native with connections to both the Triad and Research Triangle, Clay enjoys spending time with friends and family and focusing on personal growth and well-being outside of work.
